The short version

Resettle needs a window's position and size. It has no reason to read what is inside a window, so it doesn't. There is no Resettle account, and your window layouts are never uploaded anywhere.

What the app stores on your Mac

Resettle keeps a local record of:

Which displays it has seen — their identifiers, names, resolutions and arrangement — so it can recognise a desk when you return to it.
Which application had a window where, as a position and size on a given display, plus the application's bundle identifier and name.
Your settings, desk names and any apps you have excluded.
Your license key, stored encrypted using macOS secure storage.

This lives in Resettle's own folder inside your Mac's Application Support directory. Deleting the app's data removes it. None of it is transmitted.

What the app never collects

The contents of any window, document, browser tab or message.
Screenshots or screen recordings.
Keystrokes, clipboard contents or typed text.
Files, file contents or file names.
Your location, contacts or browsing history.

Why Resettle asks for Accessibility permission

macOS only lets an app read and move another app's windows if you grant Accessibility permission. Resettle uses it for exactly that: reading where windows are and putting them back. There is no way to restore a layout without it, and the permission is requested once, by macOS itself.

What leaves your Mac

One thing: license checks. To confirm your license is valid, Resettle contacts Dodo Payments and sends your license key along with an identifier for the Mac you are activating, so the 3-Mac limit can be enforced and so you can see which machines are activated.

These requests go only to Dodo Payments over an encrypted connection, and the app refuses to send them anywhere else. Resettle re-checks periodically while you are online and keeps working offline for a grace period.

Payments

Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record for this product. When you buy Resettle, your payment is processed by them, not by us. They collect the billing details and tax information the sale requires, and they handle order enquiries and returns.

We never see or store your card details. We receive the information needed to issue and support your license, such as your email address and which products you bought. See Dodo Paymentsfor how they handle payment data.

This website

getresettle.com is a static site served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes requests and may record standard technical information — IP address, user agent, requested page — to serve and protect the site, including aggregate performance measurements.

The site may also use privacy-friendly product analytics (PostHog) to count visits and see which sections people read, so the page can be improved. This is aggregate usage measurement. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell or share personal data, and nothing on this site is used to build a profile of you.

Your choices

You can revoke Accessibility permission at any time in System Settings.
You can delete Resettle's stored data by removing its Application Support folder.
You can ask us what license information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Deleting your license record ends your ability to activate the app.

Children

Resettle is a tool for professionals and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
